Timeline

From day 1 to cargo on board

How long a standard fabric import takes, stage by stage. Ocean transit is separate and adds on at the end.

Day 1 → cargo on board: ≈ 45 days
Day 1
Advisory and tech pack

We define what you are importing: composition, width, weight, colour and quantity. Without a clear spec there is no comparable quote.

Days 3–10
Supplier sourcing and vetting

We quote with several mills, verify real production capacity and rule out intermediaries posing as manufacturers.

Days 10–14
Sample and approval

We request a sample or swatch from origin and review it with you. Nothing enters production without your written approval.

Days 15–35
Production and quality control

We track the mill's progress and inspect before dispatch: colour, weight, yardage and packing.

Days 35–45
Consolidation and shipping

We book the freight, consolidate the cargo and issue the documents: BL, commercial invoice and certificates of origin.

Day 45+
Transit, customs and delivery

Ocean transit from China takes 30 to 45 days; by air, 5 to 8. On arrival we settle duties, clear customs and deliver to your warehouse.

The timings in this timeline are an illustrative example, pending confirmation with Insunova. They vary by volume, fabric type, origin, transport mode and season — Chinese New Year can push production back by several weeks.

Actual scope

What we do and what we don't

Saying it upfront avoids misunderstandings once the operation is running.

What we do

  • We source, audit and negotiate directly with the mill at origin
  • We calculate the full landed cost before you commit capital
  • We order, pay and control production for you (Full Support)
  • We inspect the goods at origin, before they go into the container
  • We coordinate freight, insurance and all cargo documentation
  • We handle customs clearance and delivery to your warehouse
  • We answer for the whole operation: a single point of contact

What we don't do

  • We do not finance the purchase: the importer puts up the capital for the goods and the duties
  • We are not a customs broker: clearance is carried out by a licensed agency we hire, coordinate and supervise
  • We do not work with mills we cannot verify, even if they have the lowest price on the list
  • We do not quote from memory: without a tech pack (composition, width, weight, quantity) there is no comparable quote
  • We do not control customs timings or the outcome of an inspection: we answer for the paperwork arriving complete and in order
